Danelle Negri

Danelle Kathleen Negri passed away at home on April 2, 2017 in the arms of her wife, Barbara Ferran and surrounded by family and friends.

Danelle’s faith and strength sustained her in a 10 year battle against unrelenting cancer. Barbara was by her side every step of the way. Danelle was a true warrior of incredible courage.

Danelle was born July 19, 1949 in Napa, CA to Fred Negri, Sr. and Anne (Bonagiuso) Negri. She was the youngest of their 5 children. Danelle attended St. John’s Catholic School, Silverado Jr. High, Napa High School (Class of ’67- Go Indians!) and Napa Valley College where she earned her degree in Nursing. Danelle lived and worked briefly in SF, before embarking on a lifelong & distinguished career at the Veterans Home in Yountville, CA. She was a cherished and gifted Nurse and Section Leader at the Vets Home for nearly 40 years.

Danelle & Barb shared a loving compassion for all animals. Their family was always made complete with the love of their dogs and cats. Danelle was a proud member of the Italian Catholic Federation. She had a true passion for travel, camping, rafting, music and most importantly- just being with her wife, Barbara.

Danelle is predeceased by her parents, Fred (Sr) and Anne Negri; brother, Fred Negri, Jr; sister, Joan (Mills) Shurtz; brother and sister-in-law, Bob and Lynna Negri.

She is survived by her wife, Barbara Ferran; sisters-in-law Carolyn & Marilyn Ferran; sister-in-law, Lorrie (Fred, Jr) Negri; brother-in-law, Ray (Jane) Shurtz; sister and brother-in-law, Sandy (Negri) and Mike Harman; nephews, Mike (Tish) Negri and Craig (Jill) Negri and Brian (Cheri) Negri; niece, Christy Negri (Nate) Galambos; niece, Lisa Deskin; nephew, Jeff (Phil) Shurtz; nephews, Todd (Kelly) Harman and Mike (Carrie) Harman; nephews, Darren (Jillian) Negri and Kevin Negri and many beloved cousins, grand nieces & nephews. Danelle is also survived by an infinite number of dear friends.

A Rosary and Memorial service will be held in Danelle’s honor on Saturday, May 6, 2017 at 11:00am at Tulocay Cemetery, 411 Coombsville Rd, Napa CA.
