Welcome to the memorial page for

Charles E. Allendorf Jr.

November 20, 1930 ~ September 21, 2017 (age 86) 86 Years Old

Charles E Allendorf Jr. Left us to go on his heavenly Fishing & Hunting expeditions on September 21, 2017.

He passed away peacefully at home with Dave & Tammy by his side.

He was 2 months shy of his 87th Birthday.

He was born 11/20/30 in Sparta WI, to Louise and Charles Allendorf. They moved to Lake County near the “Oaks”, where his father worked in quick silver mines in the mid 1930’s.

His family moved to Napa in 1939, where he attended Mt. George & then Napa High. His mother was an RN & worked at Parks Victory Hospital & his Father was an Electrician & worked at Mare Island & then Travis Air Force Base.

Chuck could always be found at Kenny’s Drive In, the Wright Spot or under the hood of a car (where he started his journey of becoming a mechanic).

He took a brief detour in 1952 when the Army called him to duty for the Korean War. He was stationed in Stuttgart Germany & worked in the motor pool.

When he returned home, he met Sandra J. Wells. They married on August 7th, 1955. They had 2 sons, Edmund & David.

He worked for several local auto dealerships & then he finished up his career at Sonoma State Hospital where he retired.

The family enjoyed camping & gold mining together. He always looked forward to fishing trips with his friends & his son Ed or hunting with friends & his son Dave. He also enjoyed watching the 49ers. Bowling was also one of his greatest passions.

Survived by: Son Edmund J. (Michelle), Son David W. (Tammy), Granddaughters Monica & Heather.

He was preceded in death by: Wife Sandra Jeanne Allendorf, Sister Elizabeth Fuller, Parents.

Service will be held at Tulocay Cemetary on October 12, 2017 at 11:00 with reception to follow. Please share any “Chuckles” stories that you may have.

Thank you to Collabria Hospice & Special Thanks to his RN Elizabeth and the Team. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to Collabria.
