Carol Sylvia Groten

Carol Groten passed away peacefully on October 28, 2017 at Napa Valley Care Center. She was born in Minnesota, graduated from Whitewater Teacher’s College in Wisconsin, and married the love of her life, Robert Groten in 1952. They spent most of their adult lives in Northern California, raising three daughters together. Carol enjoyed doing volunteer work through the church, traveling and baking. She is preceded in death by her parents, a brother, and her husband Robert. She is survived by her daughters Barbara (Terry) Hoffman of Reno, NV, Dr. Dawn Groten of Napa, and Nancy Elledge of Capitola. She is also survived by three grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; Joshua Elledge (Francesca) and their sons Jonathan, Michael and Christian of Rome, Italy, Christa Elledge of San Jose, and Nicole (Jason) Dutcher of Moorpark, California. A private service is planned for the family.
