Barbara Ellen Stahlecker

Barbara Ellen Stahlecker, 87, of Napa, CA passed away Monday November 20,2017 peacefully at her home.

She was born September 29, 1930 to Joseph Louis and Freda Virginia (O'Neal) Silva in Napa, CA.

Barbara was raised in Napa and graduated from Napa High School in 1948.

She married Charles Clark on September 19,1948 in Napa. She married Harold Stahlecker on November 4,1978 in Reno.

She was a homemaker before going to work for Woolworth's in downtown Napa. She retired from Montgomery Wards after 30 years of service. She worked for Napa School District food services, where she eventually became the lunch lady at Vichy Elementary School until she was retired at the age of 80.

She was a loving and caring person who cared for rescued Yorkies, many ferrel cats and hummingbirds. Her first pride and joy was Bryce a miniature horse, who would smile at you. When Bryce passed away she got another miniature horse Cosmos, making many new friends who stopped by to see the horse.

She was an avid gardner having several varieties of roses, flowers and trees. She loved camping with her family and traveling through all 48 contiguous United States.

She is survived by daughters Donna Hamilton of Shawnee, OK and Linda Smernes of Napa. Step children Lorrie (Brad) Milton of Lakewood, CA, Rick (Barbara) Stahlecker of Norfolk, NE, Mary Lee (Mike) Tobin of Windsor, CA. Grandchildren Daniel (Illya) Smemes, Anthony Smemes, Deanna Williams, James (Lorisha) Gilliam, Renae McCurdy, Amber (Alex) Narez, Cara and Cori Stahlecker, Shannon (CJ) Bond, Sean (Kelly) Tobin, and Sheamus Tobin. Great Grandchildren Daniel Smernes, Anthony Smernes, Drew Smernes, Anthony Woodall, Alexis Gilliam, Sarenity Wells, Jaymie Gilliam and Keylan McAllister. Sister Dottie Brookins. Numerous nieces and nephews.

Predeceased by her parents, husbands Charles Clark and Harold Stahlecker, Son Robert Clark, Grandson Robert Ratto, Brother and Sister-in-law Charles and Lorraine Cowan, Sister and Brother-in-law Marge and Jim Free, and Brother-in-law Del Brookins.

The funeral service will be held at Hopewell Baptist Church at 3755 Linda Vista Ave, Napa on Wednesday November 29th at 11:00 a.m.. Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at the church.

Memorial contributions in Barbara's name can be made to Hopewell Baptist Christian Academy Athletic Programs.
