Anthony Suryan Jr.

Anthony "Tony" Suryan Jr., passed away Friday, April 10th.  He was born in Anacortes, Washington on January 10, 1938 to Anthony and Iole Suryan.

Anthony grew up in rural Washington on and around farms.  His garden was his therapy and his joy.  Working the ground, planting, growing and harvesting gave him great pleasure.  He was passionate about fishing.  Salmon fishing on Whidbey Island was a bi-annual fact of life.  He also enjoyed bass fishing at Lake Berryessa.  He taught his two boys to fish and knew it would be a lifetime passion  for them.

Anthony enjoyed Chi Gung, daily walks with his wife, Marcia, and traveling.  He served in the United States Air Force and was stationed at Travis Air Force Base.  He moved to Napa in 1979, met his wife in 1980 and lived a happy and content life.

He is survived by his wife, Marcia Suryan, Step-son Christopher Rauch, Grandson C. Hayden Rauch-Gish all of Napa, also a nephew, niece, cousins, aunts and in-laws.

Anthony was preceded in death by his father, mother and sister of Washington state.

A memorial service with military honors to celebrate Anthony's life will be held on Friday, April 17th at 1:00 pm at Tulocay Mortuary.
