Angela Luce Obituary

1978 - 2018

Angela May Luce After being diagnosed with cancer at 18 months old, Angela's parents were told she had two months to live. Being the true fighter that she was, she defied odds and was with us for 40 years. Although she lived in pain most days, she enjoyed each day she had and lived her life to the fullest. Angela enjoyed music, spending time with her family, playing video games, attending sporting events, and traveling with her friends and fiance. She enjoyed weekends at the Russian River and the beach, trips to Monterey, Maui, Disneyland, and Las Vegas, and wherever else life took her. She was a huge fan of Wonder Woman, Janet Jackson, Winnie the Pooh, the Oakland Raiders, San Francisco Giants, and Golden State Warriors. She loved art and photography and graduated from the Academy of Art in San Francisco with a degree in film making. She attended high school at Justin Siena, graduating in 1996. She was recently engaged to her love of nine years, Josh George. She loved her two dogs, Rocco and Dolce, as if they were her children. Over the past few years, she gained a niece and many nephews who she loved dearly. A descendant of Don Cayetano Juarez, Angela was a 7th-Generation Napan.

She underwent open-heart surgery on January 8, just four days past her 40th Birthday, to repair two valves. While there were some complications, she fought hard like she always has and was on the road to recovery. Unfortunately, on January 17, the complications became too much for her to bear and she passed peacefully surrounded by her family and closest friends (Edgar and Theresa Combong) on the morning of January 18.

Angela is survived by her mother Terri Ritchie (Duban-Orona) and father Timothy Luce, fiance Josh George, stepmother Rosie Luce, stepfathers Gregg Ritchie and Mark Duban, siblings Jennifer Dichoso (Gomell), Jessica Duban (Jason Lund), Traci Duban, Cody Orona, Lacey Orona, Nicole Luce Feil (Michael), Jimmy Luce (Jenifer), niece Zoe Jane, nephews Clayton, Brayden, Braxton, and Bentley, and godson Elliott. She is also survived by her aunt Michelle Luce, uncles Timothy Pickelsimer, Jesse Pickelsimer (David Marez), grandparents Jim and Janice Luce, and Jesse Pickelsimer (Dianna). She was preceded in death by her grandmother Alfie May Pickelsimer.

Angela's family thanks everyone for the prayers, thoughts, and kind words during this difficult time. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, January 27 at 11:30 a.m. at Tulocay Funeral Home.
