Alicia Garcia Reyes

Alicia Garcia Reyes passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by her family on April 10th, 2016. She was born in Sacramento, CA on March 21st, 1940 to Victor Garcia of Chihuahua, Mexico and Francisca M. Garcia of Torreón, Mexico.

Alicia worked at Queen of the Valley Hospital for over 25 years. From there she married Lazaro Reyes of Woodlake, CA where she became a homemaker and mother of two beautiful children and four amazing grandchildren.

Alicia was devoted to God and to her church. She instilled her beliefs to her children and grandchildren. She dedicated her life to serving others through various charities in the community. She started volunteering for Church Women United starting in 1973, followed by St. Vincent de Paul, Salvation Army, Napa Food Bank and many others for over 55 years. Alicia was well known by the Hispanic community for her advocacy and passion to help others.

Alicia is survived by her two children Damon and Monica Reyes and four grandchildren Damon Jr., Sonny, Roman, and Diana Reyes who were all the pride and joy of her life. She was the last of five sisters and is survived by her two brothers Raul Garcia and Robert Garcia of Napa. She also had numerous nieces and nephews, just to name a few, Elizabeth Chechourka, Matthew Chechourka, Sylvia Wendland, Robert Garcia, Charles Garcia, Virginia Garcia, Kathryn Perez, Tina Corral, Francis Llanos and many many more whom she loved very much.

We are all deeply saddened by our wonderful and beautiful mother and aunt's passing. We will miss her infectious smile and laughter and all her funny stories and awesome advice.

A viewing will begin at noon on Sunday, April 17th, followed by the Rosary at 6:00 p.m. at Tulocay Funeral Home at 411 Coombsville Rd., Napa, CA. The funeral will be held on Monday, April 18th, at 10:00 a.m. at St. John's Catholic Church at 960 Caymus St., Napa, CA followed by the burial at Tulocay Cemetery. Her celebration of life will be held at Tulocay as well.
