Adra Tweedie

Adra Collette Tweedie (Ellis), born on July 1, 1943, in Oakland, CA to J. Arnold Ellis and Adra Edith(Eaton) Ellis,  peacefully stepped into Eternity at dawn on February 24, 2017 after a lengthy battle with cancer.  

Adra attended Analy High School in Sebastopol, CA and Napa Valley College and was a homemaker, mother, grandma extraordinaire, surgical nurses assistant, and childcare provider.  She resided in Napa.

Adra loved music, gardening, fishing, and reading.  She volunteered in local libraries in California and Wyoming, and loved to take her children and grandchildren to the local library often to encourage their love of reading and learning as well.  Adra loved playing bingo and traveling, whether on a cross country camping trip, road trip to Wyoming, or a Sunday drive to Occidental where she lived as a child, to Bodega Bay, or around the Napa Valley.

Adra is survived by her daughters, Charmae Bartlett, Renee’ Bartlett, Rebecca Bartlett Miller (Greg), and son, Charles Bartlett, 11 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren and a great grandson due to be born on her birthday, cousin Sue Atkinson (Leonard) of Vallejo, Ca, several nieces and nephews, and numerous friends.  She will forever be in our hearts.

An intimate memorial service is schedule in the garden at Tulocay Cemetery in Napa on Monday, March 6th, 11:00am; reception to follow.

The family would like to thank the staff at Golden Living Center-Napa Post Acute Care and Collabria Hospice of Napa for their kind care in her last days.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Vintage High School Music Boosters, St. Helena Library, or Collabria Hospice of Napa. Memories may be shared at www.tulocaycemetery.org.
